Flood Emergency in Pakistan

One of the biggest floods in recent years has put millions of people at risk of homelessness, hunger and even death. In particular people living in poverty, together with women and children are adversely affected by the crisis.

Mission

Our mission is to support and strengthen the society at the grass root level by spreading knowledge, providing participatory innovative solutions, generating awareness to end violence against women, facilitating access to resources and services for the poor, marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

What we do

RDHR has completed various projects in different districts of Sindh region with national and international partners.

Advocacy and Awareness

30 mln people in Pakistan live below the poverty line, 32% and 5% of them are chronic and extremely poor, respectively.

Women Rights Cell

21% of girls in Pakistan marry before the age of 18, and 3% before age 15. More than 5mln primary school-age childern are out of school, most girls.

ELM Learning Home

Rs. 900 (£4.60) - cost of 1 month English classes in Pakistan. A barrier which many cannot overcome.

Public Health Promotion

Poor socioeconomic conditions, lack of sanitation, low health awareness and low vaccination coverage are among major reasons for diseases.

Plant a Tree

Reforestation campaign is one of the actions we take to manage climate change. Every year, country loses more than $4 billions due to climate change disasters.

Food Security

8 out of 10 children do not eat enough of right type of food. Devastating malnutrition is a national problem affecting people of all ages, especially children and women.

How do we make a change

Our way to work with the community is very different from conventional NGOs because our relationship with communities is beyond the funded projects. We are part of underprivileged people and they are part of us. This relationship leads our projects towards sustainability.
